Information for New BMHA Parents

Welcome to Belmont Minor Hockey and we look forward to you being a part of our little hockey family!  Our goal is to help your son/daughter succeed in hockey by learning new skills, meeting new friends, and having lots of fun.  In order to better prepare you for the upcoming season, below you will find a list of things to assist you:

  1. Please make sure that your child has all the required hockey equipment for the first ice time.  If you require any assistance with sizing, many retail staff are knowledgeable and experienced with same.  You may wish to check with your coach as well.  But please remember to purchase your child a water bottle!
  2.  The coach or manager of your child’s team will be in contact with you via email to notify you about your child’s first ice time.
  3.  Watch the website and subscribe to your child’s team calendar to keep up to date with any scheduling changes. Your team manager will be able to assist you with this in the event you should need help.
  4. Effective August 31, 2014, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) mandated that at least one parent or guardian of each player registered with Belmont Minor Hockey will be required to complete the online Respect in Sport Parent Education Program as a condition of their child's participation.

This is an OMHA regulation and your child cannot be rostered unless you have completed the training.  The Parent RIS is different from the Coaching RIS and everyone must complete Parent RIS.  **Please keep your certificate number in case it is needed at a later date.  Please complete this program prior to tryouts if you have not already done so.
