Novice LL Rangers Update
On Saturday, November 22, the Novice LL Rangers welcomed the Thamesford Attack to the Belmont Arena.

The Rangers fell behind quickly after the Attack scored twice to open the game.  But Blake slammed the door the rest of the way and the Rangers poured on the offense to take the game 11-2.  Noah had the hot stick, scoring five times.  Cameron scored his first goal and followed it up with two more for the hat trick.  Tyler F. netted his first as did Rowan, whose hard work the entire game paid off when he beat the buzzer with half a second left.  Brett also scored.

After the slow start, the entire team came alive.  Brayden, Tyler F., and Ethen did a great job clearing the front of the net.  The forwards dug hard in the corners to work the puck into great scoring positions.  Blake continues to shine between the pipes.  Every player notched a point--the coaches love to see assists.  Excellent work.

Sunday at practice we worked a little at trying to introduce positioning without the puck.  Although the players showed that they wanted to work hard, I think the results showed that we would be better off continuing to work on improving in other areas.  We've spent a lot of time talking with the players about the importance of passing and working together.  Please remind your player that as coaches we believe that working together is fun, and passing the puck is just as important to improving as a player as shooting and scoring.  We want to see the players develop their passing skills during practice and show those skills off in games.

This weekend is a busy one for the Rangers.  We have some extra ice time for a practice on Friday, we travel to Port Stanley on Saturday, practice again at our usual Sunday time, and take on Aylmer Monday in Belmont.

It'll be great.
