Thank you to everyone who cast their votes. We had two names that came to the top and were separated by less than 1% (6 votes out of more than 500 votes cast). Additionally, the bottom four names made up a total of 55% of the total votes.
With this in mind, we have had discussions and feel that we would like to do another vote with only the top two options, so that we make sure our new name represents a majority of our new membership.
The team name for the Elgin Thames Minor Hockey Association has been narrowed down to:
- 73’s – this name represents the 73 highway that connect all three of our areas
- Ice Hawks – the hawk is an animal local to our areas and it incorporates the element of flight

Once our name is determined we will be sending out the opportunity for rough draft logo submissions that we will get professional mockups made of the top 3-5 entries.
