Novice Start December Off On The Right Foot!
On Saturday December 1st the Rangers welcomed the Stars from North Middlesex to the arena for our first meeting of the season. Both teams played well during the first 10 mins with the little leftie from the Stars making many saves on the relentless Rangers. We started the 2nd period locked in at 0's.
Rangers had the pressure on and finally after some nice forechecking and puck movement, Holden Clark, AKA "Johnny on the Spot" banged home the first score of the game which finished off some nice puckhandling from Noah Vandenbrink and passing from Ben Weesjes. After many more chances we couldn't put any more tallies on the board in the 2nd frame. William had two more solid periods for the red, white and blue. Ben Weesjes put the Rangers up by two on a breakaway as he finished off a tic tac toe started by Clark to Vanbommel up to Weesjes for the post and in tally. William won the hard hat for his effort between the pipes. He can thank all four of his D for another strong effort on their part. Jackson groves was missed on Saturday due to the flu, but bounced back Monday at practice.
Next game Friday vs a real tough squad from Exeter!
